A Year of Wonder and Delight at Futura Foods Wales

A little over a year ago Futura Foods, together with Nordex Food Group, saw an opportunity they could not miss: a cheese factory in North Wales was on the market!

With some of the most modern machines in Europe contained within the factory, the overwhelming feeling was that it was clearly worth a visit. Even if there wasn’t any power and the first look around had to be done with torches in hand!
Regardless of the lack of light, that which was seen was so impressive, that a business plan for the factory was created that day.

Fast forward a year and the site is now in full swing:

Our technical teams worked hard so that within a couple of months of being operational, the site became both Red Tractor and Hallal approved. The site also gained AA grade in a BRC audit, which was quite the challenge during the lockdown in 2020.

Our export teams are working tirelessly to ensure products are not only being sent into the UK market but also being exported to as far as Europe, the Middle East, America and Asia.

Our NPD (New Product Development) teams have been using a range of flavours and ingredients for new projects alongside our customers, to create new and exciting products for the site to produce.

Our sales teams are working hard alongside customers to bring in contracts and sell our newly launched brands, Four Crosses and FuturaPro, that come directly from the factory.

The site controller and director purchased a new grater head to expand capabilities for a variety of product opportunities.

And all of the employees at Futura Foods Wales have been a testament to the factory and the quality products being delivered to customers. Without the employees at Futura Foods Wales, this year would not have been the success it now is. When the Covid-19 pandemic caused concerns with production continuation and the ability to keep the factory open, the employees at Futura Foods Wales faced the adversity and did all they could to continue to make it work. The pride in quality of their work is very apparent with every perfect pallet that leaves the factory.

The ordering book, number of products, new brands being developed and potential for Futura Foods Wales is ever growing. If this is what we can acheve during our first year, the future is exhilarating!
