How to Perfect Your Cheeseboard

The party season is coming and although we may not know exactly what it will look like in 2020, we can begin to prepare ourselves for whatever the festivities will bring by thinking of a firm favorite crowd pleasing subject, a cheeseboard!

When selecting the perfect combination of delights for your cheeseboard, a variety of flavours and textures are really important. Ultimately you want to select different types of Cheese for everyone’s taste

Our recommendation for selecting the right mix:

Firstly a mould ripened soft cheese, such as Brie, Camembert or Taleggio. These cheeses add varying strength of flavour but give a very enjoyable soft mouthfeel.

Next think about adding a full bodied hard Cheese such as Cheddar, Parmigiano Reggiano, Mimolette, Swiss Gruyere, Manchego, Grana Padano or Pecorino. The hard cheese texture creates some bite and add a depth of flavour.

The next great cheese to select is a distinctive Blue Cheese such as Stilton, Gorgonzola, Roquefort, Danish Blue, Saint Agur or Shropshire Blue. Strong in flavour and varying in texture, these cheeses are wonderful to add variety.

And lastly, choosing a flavourful Goat Cheese such as Murcia al Vino, Goats Cheese Log, Crottin de Chavignol, will give your cheeseboard some distinction.

Picking a Cheese from each category in the above selection means you really do have something for everyone.

But you don’t need to stop there – a really great cheeseboard is what you want it to be! There are 1000’s of different types of Cheeses throughout the World so it is always good to try something new when you get the opportunity!
